Lo sguardo del turista: «Why did I travel to Genoa»
I am always drawn back to the places where I lived and traveled. One of the journeys that will be stamped on my memory forever is my first visit to Genova in Italy last year.
Probably If I hadn’t seen “A Summer in Genova” movie (by Michael Winterbottom)I’d have never asked to take me there. The plot itself is not really awe-inspiring, rather commonplace; it’s a story of an American family seeking new lives after the sudden death of the mother (the film stars my favourite Colin Firth as the father).
What really impressed me was something else, it was the way the movie depicted the medieval city of Genoa, a dangerous underbelly of the mysterious new world, its crowded and narrow alleys which are like a maze or a labyrinth. It has a lot of energy as a matter of fact and you feel the city hadn’t been changed much over the centuries. I’d go further and say that the city played the leading position and was very good in this role.

Clip quay ngày CN 23/5/2010 tại Riomaggiore, cái làng cuối cùng trong chuỗi 5 làng ven biển “Cinque Terre” nếu đi từ Genova. Vì 2 anh em xuất phát từ ga G. Brignole nên cách tiện nhất để đi hết 5 làng là đi đến làng cuối cùng và bắt đầu chuyến đi ngược về Genova. Làng nằm ở trong một thung lũng, 2 bên sườn đồi là những trang trại trồng nho làm rượu và cây ăn trái khác. Các lối đi quanh đồi được người dân đẽo vào sườn đá từ ngày xưa, tạo thành từng tầng như những bậc thang, đi vào làng trên những con đường cong cong này có thể ngắm cảnh biển xanh, cảnh đồi cây, cảnh nhà cửa chen chúc, cảm giác như đang đến thăm vùng đất Shire trong truyện Chúa tể những chiếc nhẫn của Tolkien.

“Genoa is the real deal”, sette giorni tra decadenza e avventura
Il video non è nuovo (ed è fatto con le fotografie), ma il punto di vista degli autori è interessante. Lei porta lui (fotografato davanti all’ingresso del Max-Planck-Institut für Mathematik di Bonn) lontano dall’inverno tedesco in un viaggio a sorpresa e in una città sconosciuta. Se Venezia è Disneyland, Genova è ancora una città vera, dai dintorni ricchi di occasioni per fare escursionismo. E alla fine, quando alla fine di un giro sul monte di Portofino si ritrovano sulla spiaggia di San Fruttuoso, “lontani dalla civiltà”, vengono “salvati” dalla barca di un gruppo di sub che li riaccompagna a Camogli. Gente “ke nn ha paura di nnt”: la prima G in gita scolastica
Di solito cerchiamo di non incorporare video fatti con le fotografie, ma Dirindandolo si è preso la briga di costruirne uno di cinque minuti davvero divertente. “Il primo g si reca a genova per una gita a dir poco fantastica!!!!!!”, un’occasione per guardare la città con gli occhi di una delle scolaresche che vediamo in questi giorni per il centro storico. Risultato? Pochi panorami e tante facce, com’è giusto a quell’età. (continua…)
